About

Coneflower Group Camp at Buffalo River State Park provides a scenic riverside setting under large cottonwood trees in western Minnesota. The grassy, open area offers multiple tent and camper locations with plenty of space for group activities, games, and cookouts. Located in Glyndon, just 30 minutes from Fargo-Moorhead, the park features over 12 miles of hiking trails through remnant prairie and old-growth hardwood forest along the Buffalo River. The group camp is separate from the main campground and provides a more primitive camping experience. Buffalo River State Park protects one of Minnesota's finest and largest remnant prairies, offering opportunities to see rare prairie birds like the greater prairie chicken, bobolinks, marbled godwits, and upland sandpipers. The park's trails wind through prairie grasslands and riverside hardwood forest. The group camp provides access to fishing in the Buffalo River and exploring over 250 species of wildflowers and grasses throughout the park.
