About

Bucksaw Campground occupies a peninsula on the Grand River Arm of Harry S. Truman Lake in the rolling hills of western Missouri. The campground offers 146 sites across multiple loops: 45 sites with 30-amp electric, 70 sites with 50-amp electric and water, 14 full-hookup sites with 50-amp, water, and sewer, plus 17 primitive sites for tent camping. Facilities include flush and vault toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities, drinking water, and a dump station. A boat ramp provides direct lake access, while a swimming beach and playground offer additional recreation. A mile-long hiking trail starts across from the A & B loop showerhouse. The well-shaded sites sit on primarily flat terrain with excellent lake views. Truman Lake is known for excellent fishing with crappie, largemouth bass, blue and flathead catfish, and walleye. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat. Wildlife viewing includes whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, and eagles. Bucksaw Point Marina is located adjacent to the park.
