About
Berry Bend Campground occupies a scenic peninsula on Harry S. Truman Lake in the rolling Ozark hills of western Missouri. The campground offers 91 sites divided between two loops. B Loop contains 7 spacious full-hookup sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, along with flush restrooms but no showers. C Loop provides 86 sites with tiered electric options: sites 39-78 have 50-amp service with water hookups, while remaining sites offer 30-amp service with dispersed water hydrants. C Loop includes flush and pit toilets, showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Harry S. Truman Reservoir lies among the rocky bluffs of the Ozark Plateau, surrounded by mature oak, hickory, and cedar forests. The lake supports excellent fishing for crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish, and catfish, with approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber left in place to provide quality aquatic habitat. Wildlife including whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles are common. Several trails are accessible from the campground. The Park Trail is a 2.5-mile beginner-friendly loop. The West Trail runs approximately 10 miles through steep ridges and valleys, while the East Trail spans about 16 miles with more level terrain and lake overlooks. Both longer trails have cut-through options for shorter rides. A boat ramp and playground round out the facilities.
