About
Located near the Buckhorn Tower Viewpoint in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, Buckhorn Campground is a small rustic campground nestled in the trees just below the ridgeline. The site sees light use and is popular with summer campers and fall hunters looking for a primitive wilderness experience. The campground offers vault toilets and picnic tables at each site but has no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. There are no fees required for camping here. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Access requires navigating approximately 40 miles of backcountry roads from Enterprise, Oregon, including Forest Road 46 and Forest Road 780. The campground is not maintained during the off-season, and road conditions may be impassable due to snow until early summer.
Directions
From Enterprise, Oregon, travel south on State Highway 82 for about 3.5 miles to Crow Creek Road. Turn left on Crow Creek Road and go about 5 miles to OK Gulch/Zumwalt-Imnaha Road.
