Brush Lake Campground sits on the scenic shores of Brush Lake in the Manistee National Forest, offering a peaceful retreat entirely surrounded by National Forest lands. This rustic campground is particularly popular with anglers who take advantage of the lake's fishing opportunities via the drive-in boat launch on the eastern shore and the smaller carry-in boat launch located within the campground. The area serves multiple recreational purposes throughout its operating season, attracting hunters during game seasons and wildlife enthusiasts year-round. The campground provides essential amenities for a comfortable rustic camping experience, including vault toilets during the operating season. While potable water is not available on-site, campers can treat or filter water from nearby sources. Sites are priced at $10 per night, with Interagency Senior and Access Pass holders receiving a 50% discount. Day use is also available for $5 per vehicle or $15 for seven days. Located in Newaygo County near White Cloud, the campground is accessed via FR 5534, a road that terminates at the site. The area offers excellent opportunities for viewing fall colors and is not gated during the off-season, though it is not maintained in winter with no road plowing or toilet facilities available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis from May through October.

Directions

From White Cloud, travel north on M-37 for 2.5 miles. Turn right and travel east on Monroe St./Old M-20 for 6 miles. Turn left and travel north on Poplar Ave. for 3.5 miles. Turn right and travel east on 6 Mile Rd. for 1.5 miles. Turn right and travel south on FR 5534, which terminates at the campground.
