About

Benton Lake Campground is situated around a quiet 33-acre lake completely surrounded by National Forest land in the Manistee National Forest. The campground features 25 campsites and provides access to a variety of recreational activities including lake and ice fishing, swimming, picnicking, and hiking. The North Country National Scenic Trail can be accessed from Pierce Drive, approximately 2 miles east of the campground entrance. The campground is equipped with vault toilets but does not have potable water available on-site. Each site includes a fire pit and picnic table. The facility operates seasonally from May through September and is gated when closed, though the day use area remains accessible year-round. The campground is particularly popular during hunting season due to its remote location and proximity to hunting areas. Located in Newaygo County, the campground provides a peaceful setting for those seeking a quiet getaway with nearby attractions including Nichols Lake North and Loda Lake National Wildflower Sanctuary. The campground's remote location and natural surroundings make it ideal for campers looking to experience Michigan's northern forests.
