About

Brunet Island State Park sits at the meeting point of the Chippewa and Fisher rivers in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. The park encompasses over 1,300 acres of wooded terrain, offering paddlers, anglers, and hikers a mix of water-based and trail activities. The island setting provides a natural buffer from surrounding development, with old-growth timber and diverse wildlife throughout. Two family campgrounds accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. The South Campground has 24 sites with electrical hookups, a shower building with flush toilets, and one ADA-accessible campsite. The North Campground offers 45 non-electric sites spread along the Chippewa River shoreline and its bays, providing shoreline access from many sites. Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host during summer months. Beyond camping, the park features swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, hiking trails, biking paths, and hunting and trapping in designated areas. Canoes and kayaks can be rented from a local vendor. The nearby town of Cornell provides groceries, propane, fuel, and laundromat services.
