Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations required May 15 through September 15. Water systems shut off for winter; bring your own water. Campsites may be inaccessible due to flooding April through June depending on reservoir levels.

About

Broken Arrow Campground is situated at the northern end of Glendo Reservoir's eastern shore within Glendo State Park in Platte County, Wyoming. The campground features 20 established campsites arranged throughout a large, flat meadow behind a stand of cottonwood trees along the lakeshore. During high water periods, a short walk through the cottonwoods brings you to the water's edge, though this distance increases significantly as water levels drop through September. The campground layout is fairly open with most sites receiving little to no shade, with the exception of sites 13 and 14 which are partially shaded. This remote setting makes it particularly popular with groups who want to camp together, as sites are close enough for easy walking distance between campsites yet far from the busier areas of the park. Access to Broken Arrow requires caution, as heavy precipitation can quickly make the road impassible or at least difficult terrain. The park recommends camping here only with smaller camping units and four-wheel drive vehicles. Due to significant fluctuation in the reservoir's water level, many campsites may become inaccessible due to flooding in April, May, and June. The campground is equipped with vault toilets and operates as part of Glendo State Park's extensive 22,000-acre recreation area on and around the reservoir.

Directions

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 east for approximately 80 miles. Turn right onto Forest Road 4795/Diamond Lake Loop at the north entrance to Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Continue 3.2 miles, then turn right after the pizza parlor. Drive half a mile to the campground entrance on the left.
