Bowman Lake State Park encompasses nearly 967 acres of forested terrain in Chenango County, offering 150 tent camping sites and 8 rustic cabins spread along scenic park roads winding through evergreen and hardwood forests. The centerpiece is the lake itself, regularly stocked with trout and featuring a sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing. Birdwatchers have documented over 103 species within the park boundaries. The campground provides standard tent camping amenities including hot showers, flush restroom facilities, a dump station, and trash service. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. Sites accommodate equipment lengths from 20 to 50 feet with both pull-through and back-in options available. Rustic cabins offer protection from the elements but lack electricity and running water, with the exception of Cabin 60 which has electric service. Beyond camping, the park features over 13 miles of hiking trails, a nature center, playground, boat launches and rentals, and a 9-hole disc golf course. Winter visitors can access marked snowmobile and cross-country ski trails, though ice fishing is prohibited.
