About
Oquaga Creek State Park offers 1,385 acres of rolling, wooded hills in Delaware County, centered around the scenic 55-acre Arctic Lake. The park provides 90 primitive campsites without electric or water hookups, all with picnic tables and fire pits, plus 7 rustic cabins sleeping six and one full-service cottage accommodating up to eight guests. The campground features central comfort stations with hot showers in each loop. Arctic Lake attracts anglers fishing for black bass, bullheads, and rainbow trout from its sandy beach area or car-top boats (no motors allowed). Summer activities include swimming at the guarded beach, hiking and biking on nature trails, disc golf, and recreational programs. The park has volleyball courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and pavilions for rent. Winter transforms the park into a destination for ice fishing, sledding on the rolling hills, snowmobiling on designated trails, and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on 10 miles of trails. Deer and small game hunting is permitted in specified areas. The park is just three hours from New York City and New Jersey, offering a true escape with no cell or WiFi service. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights with a 48-hour departure required before re-registering.
