About
Oquaga Creek State Park sits in the southern Catskill foothills of Delaware County, about three hours from New York City. The campground features 90 tent and trailer sites spread across loops, each served by a central comfort station with hot showers. Sites accommodate up to 6 people with a 2-tent or 1-camper-plus-1-tent limit. For those seeking a bit more shelter, 7 rustic cabins (no electricity or water) and one full-service cottage are available.
The park's centerpiece is 55-acre Arctic Lake, stocked with rainbow trout, black bass, and bullheads. A swimming beach operates during the summer season, and a car-top boat launch provides access for kayaks, canoes, and small boats (no motors allowed). Six miles of trails wind through the forested terrain, and family-friendly amenities include a playground, disc golf course, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. A camp store serves basic needs.
Be aware that Oquaga Creek has no cell service or WiFi, making it a true getaway. Some facilities including bathrooms and the concession stand close after Labor Day.
