Minor coastal flooding will also be a threat. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...From 10 AM Monday to 4 AM PST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. High rip current risk. Minor tidal overflow into parking lots and boardwalks also possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Surf will peak Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol, flags and signs.

Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground is a popular beachside camping destination stretching three miles along Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, from Warner Avenue to Seapoint Avenue. The campground features 50 RV campsites with electric and water hookups arranged parking-lot style, with premium oceanfront sites along the front row. This facility is exclusively for factory-built, self-contained RVs that include running water, internal flushable toilets with holding tanks, showers, and cooking facilities. No tent camping, conversions, or cassette toilets are permitted. The beach is known for excellent surf fishing opportunities for perch, corbina, croaker, cabezon, and sand shark. During summer new and full moons, visitors can experience the unique California grunion runs. An 8.5-mile paved beachside trail connects Bolsa Chica with Huntington State Beach, perfect for walking, running, and biking. Nearly 200 fire rings are available first-come, first-served for year-round beach bonfires. Across Pacific Coast Highway lies the 1,000-acre Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, offering excellent wildlife and bird watching. The campground operates year-round with a visitor center open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM featuring educational displays and programs. Park gates are open 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Three ADA-accessible campsites are available with proper routes of travel. Facilities include restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic tables, and a dump station. Beach wheelchairs are available for loan. Lifeguard service is provided year-round with towers staffed roughly Memorial Day through Labor Day.
