Tuscarora State Park

Tuscarora State Park occupies 1,618 acres in Schuylkill County where Locust Mountain appears to drop directly into the southern shore of 96-acre Tuscarora Lake. The park serves as a popular destination for day trips and family reunions, with a shared visitor center serving both Tuscarora and nearby Locust Lake State Parks. Overnight accommodations consist of six camping cottages and four yurts rather than traditional campsites. The camping cottages sleep five people in bunk beds and feature wooden walls and floors, electric heat, a screened porch, and nearby shower facilities. One cottage is pet-friendly. The yurts offer additional amenities including a four-burner electric range, microwave, and refrigerator. All units have electricity, fire rings, and picnic tables. Both types of accommodations are available from April through mid-October. The park offers diverse recreational opportunities including swimming at the beach, boating on the lake, hiking trails, fishing, and hunting in designated areas. Environmental education programs run April through October. Reservations are available through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system or by calling 888-PA-PARKS.

From I-81 northbound: Take Exit 131A, turn right onto PA 54 north, follow signs to park. From I-81 southbound: Take Exit 131A, turn right onto Morea Road, then right onto PA 54 north.
