About

Beltzville State Park encompasses 3,002 acres in Carbon County's southern Pocono foothills, centered around the 949-acre Beltzville Lake. Fed by Pohopoco Creek, an excellent trout stream, the lake serves as both a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and a premier destination for boaters and anglers. The park's sand beach and picnic pavilions draw visitors throughout the warm months, while the surrounding areas offer hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife watching opportunities. Recreational facilities at Beltzville result from a cooperative effort between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of State Parks, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The park includes an environmental interpretive center and amphitheater that serve as focal points for educational programs offered from March through October. Beltzville State Park operates strictly as a day-use facility. Overnight lodging on watercraft, in self-contained campers, or in any other form is prohibited. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, with the beach and day-use areas operating from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and 8:00 AM to dusk during the remainder of the year.
