combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has issued
a code orange air quality alert Thursday for The Philadelphia
Metro area.
A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution
concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for
sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children...people
suffering from asthma... heart disease or other lung
diseases...and the elderly. The effects of air pollution can
be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.

Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site
Hopewell Furnace roads, visitor center and facilities are closed Sunday December 25th, 2022 and Sunday January 1st, 2023 for the Holidays. Park grounds and trails will remain open.

Due to winter weather conditions, Hopewell Furnace will be closed the remainder of the day on Saturday, January 6 with a possible delayed opening on Sunday, January 7, depending on conditions with access into the park.

Restoration of the parking lot East side of Route 345 (off Hopewell Rd) is anticipated to start this week. No parking North of Hopewell Rd and slight trail & bridge diversions will be necessary during the project, anticipated to be completed Spring 2024.
