Blue Creek

Blue Creek sits on the eastern shore of Oologah Lake, a 30,000-acre reservoir on the Verdigris River managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features roughly 50 sites split between electric (30-amp) and primitive options. The electric loop occupies sites 14-35, while non-electric sites fill loops 1-11 and 36-53. Sites 54-61 form an equestrian loop with direct access to the Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail, an 18-mile multi-use path stretching south to the spillway. Facilities include flush toilets and showers in the main area, vault toilets in the primitive sections, a dump station, and a swimming beach. A group day-use picnic shelter with electric can accommodate up to 100 guests. Anglers target black bass, crappie, catfish, walleye, and hybrid striped bass. Prevailing winds make the lake popular for sailing. Nearby, Dog Iron Ranch preserves the birthplace of Will Rogers with a living history museum, his original two-story home, and a 400-acre pasture with Texas Longhorn cattle.

Directions

From Tulsa, take US-169 north for 23 miles to Highway 88. Turn right and continue nearly 6 miles. Turn right onto Edgewater Road, then left on Spencer Creek Road. After about a mile, turn left onto Blue Creek Road and continue into the campground.
