About

Rocky Point occupies a scenic peninsula on the upper end of Fort Gibson Lake, where Flat Rock Creek meets the main channel. The campground features steep rocky bluffs along its eastern edge and thick wooded timber on the western side, with a protected cove between them offering boaters a calm place to moor. Each of the 59 electric hookup sites includes a concrete picnic table, grill, lantern hook, and fire ring. Three additional canopy sites without hookups are available first-come, first-served. The nearly 20,000-acre lake delivers excellent boating and swimming opportunities, with a designated sandy swim beach within the campground. Anglers target black bass, white bass, crappie, and multiple catfish and panfish species. The surrounding 225 miles of shoreline border thousands of acres of public hunting land supporting white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, waterfowl, and small game. Historic Fort Gibson, established in 1824 and now a National Historical Landmark, sits nearby with a reconstructed log stockade and original barracks, hospital, and bakehouse open to the public year-round.
