About

Rocky Point campground occupies a scenic location on the upper end of Fort Gibson Lake where Flat Rock Creek meets the main channel. The park features steep rocky bluffs on the eastern edge and thick wooded timber on the western edge, with a protected cove between offering calm waters for mooring boats. The year-round facility provides 59 campsites with electric hookups, plus three additional canopy-covered non-electric sites available first-come, first-served. Rocky Point is unique among Fort Gibson Lake campgrounds for its designated swim beach within the park. Amenities include drinking water, flush and pit toilets, hot showers, two dump stations, three boat ramps, and a courtesy dock. A group day-use picnic shelter with electric hookup is also available. Rocky Point Store, conveniently located just outside the park gates, provides sandwiches, pizza, ice, fuel, and a small inventory of grocery and camping items. The nearly 20,000-acre Fort Gibson Lake offers excellent fishing for black bass, white bass, crappie, catfish, and panfish. The lake's 225 miles of shoreline provide access to thousands of acres of public hunting lands for white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, waterfowl, cottontail rabbit, and squirrel. Historic Fort Gibson, a National Historical Landmark established in 1824, is located nearby and features a reconstructed log stockade and original military structures.
