About

Black Hawk State Park sits on the southeast edge of Lake View in Sac County, offering campers access to 957-acre Black Hawk Lake, the southernmost natural glacial lake in the United States. The park operates two distinct camping areas: Thirty Acres Campground on the south side of the lake and Camp Crescent near the town of Lake View. Together they provide 134 campsites including non-electric tent sites, standard electric sites, electric with water, and a full hookup site. The campgrounds feature modern restrooms with flush toilets and showers, a dump station, and several pull-through sites accommodating rigs up to 90 feet. Adjacent amenities include playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, disc golf, and two swimming beaches. The lake has no motor size restrictions and offers excellent fishing with four boat ramps and a fish cleaning station. A universally accessible fishing pier serves anglers with mobility needs. A two-story family cabin sleeping up to 12 guests is available year-round with full kitchen, heating, and air conditioning. Reservations are required for all camping and can be made up to three months in advance for standard sites.
