About
Featherstone Memorial Park is a popular county campground located on the northwest shore of North Twin Lake, approximately 10 miles north of Rockwell City. The park encompasses 51 acres and provides camping access to the scenic 453-acre natural lake, known for excellent fishing for walleye, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and yellow bass. The campground offers 79 campsites equipped with electricity and water hookups, plus additional primitive campsites for those seeking a more rustic experience. A dump station is available for RV campers. The park features three full bathroom facilities with showers, ensuring modern conveniences for all visitors. All camping is first-come, first-served with no advance reservations, and campers pay on-site using envelopes at the pay box near the entrance. Recreational amenities include a boat ramp for lake access, swimming and fishing docks (including a handicap-accessible dock), playground equipment, and two shelter houses. The park serves as a trailhead for the 7-mile paved Twin Lakes Trail that circles North Twin Lake, perfect for biking and walking. In addition to traditional campsites, the park offers seven rental cabins that can be reserved online. The 14-day camping limit ensures turnover during busy periods, and quiet hours are enforced from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
