About
Rancheria Campground is located on the shores of Huntington Lake at approximately 7,000 feet elevation in the Sierra National Forest. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Kaiser Wilderness and enjoying all activities Huntington Lake offers, including swimming, sailing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and water skiing. The campground features 124 individual sites plus three group sites (White Pine, Granite, and Jeffery Pine). Sites are tucked under a dense canopy of fir and pine trees, with some tent-only sites positioned right on the lakeshore allowing informal boat mooring. Standard sites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet with dirt parking spurs. Each site includes a picnic table, campfire ring, and grill. Nearby hiking trails include Rancheria Falls (1 mile), Indian Pools (1 mile), and Black Point (0.7 miles). The 12-mile Kaiser Loop Trail connects to a network of trails within the Kaiser Wilderness for hikers and horseback riders. California Land Management sponsors interpretive programs and nature walks throughout the summer, with campfire programs held at the on-site amphitheater on summer weekends.
