About
Cove Group Campground is a reservable group site in the Hume Lake Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest, within the Giant Sequoia National Monument. Set at 6,400 feet elevation, this single group site accommodates up to 50 people and allows 20 cars or 10 RVs. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables, food storage boxes, and a group campfire ring. The campground is located about 18 miles from Hume Lake, where visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing. Several hiking trails pass nearby, and streams in the area offer trout fishing. The surrounding Sequoia National Forest contains more than 30 groves of giant sequoias, the world's largest trees by volume. Pets are allowed on a 6-foot leash. Off-road vehicles are prohibited in the campground. Due to California regulations, firewood must be purchased locally and burned on-site to prevent the spread of invasive pests.
Directions
From Fresno, California, go east on Highway 180 towards Kings Canyon National Park. Take a right on the Generals Highway and travel approximately 10 miles south to the campground entrance on the left.
