About

Stony Creek Campground sits at approximately 6,500 feet in the Sierra Nevada mountains, nestled among Sugar Pines, Jeffrey Pines, and Red Firs with Stony Creek just steps away. The campground offers nearly 50 sites spread along the creek, ranging from standard sites accommodating small RVs and trailers up to 20 feet to tent-only sites near the water. Vault toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, and an amphitheater are available on-site. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Day trips to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, Giant Sequoia National Monument, Boyden Caverns, and General Grant Grove are popular among visitors. The Jennie Lake Trail trailhead is across the highway at Upper Stony Creek Campground. Several creeks run near the campground, offering fishing and wading opportunities. Black bears frequent the area and special food storage regulations are strictly enforced. Campers must properly store all food and scented items. Stony Creek Resort, located half a mile away, offers public showers, groceries, a restaurant, and gasoline.
