About

Westmoreland State Park Campground provides riverside camping along the Potomac River in Virginia's Northern Neck. The park features dramatic Horsehead Cliffs formed from Miocene-era fossils and offers 6 miles of hiking trails, a fishing pier, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and a visitor center. Three campgrounds accommodate tent campers and RVers alike, with recently renovated Campground B offering modern pull-through sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups. Campground A houses the main bathhouse with flush restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities, plus reserved ADA-accessible parking and facilities. All campsites include a fire ring, box grill, and picnic table. A camp store sells firewood, supplies, and starter logs, with WiFi available at the store. The park also offers camping cabins and traditional cabins for those seeking more amenities. The campground operates from the first Friday in March through the first Monday in December. Reservations can be made up to eleven months in advance through the Virginia State Parks reservation system. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out at 1 p.m. Pets are welcome on leashes no longer than 6 feet.
