About
Beaverdam Campground and Picnic Area is located in the Fleecer Mountain Range, approximately 17 miles south of Butte in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The campground features 15 units that will accommodate trailers up to 50 feet, with five pull-through sites and the remaining designed as back-in sites. Tent pads are available at most sites, and firewood can generally be found within the campground area. The campground is situated along Divide Creek, providing opportunities for stream fishing in a scenic mountain setting. For motorized recreation enthusiasts, the campground offers close proximity to trails including access to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail along with other loop trails in the area. The site is accessible via a gravel road suitable for passenger vehicles. Open seasonally from the Friday before Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets, hand-pumped drinking water during the summer months, picnic tables, and fire pits at each site. A 16-day stay limit and food storage requirements are in effect. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with some sites available for reservation.
Directions
From Butte take I-15/I-90 west for approximately 7 miles. Merge onto I-15 south and continue for approximately 12 miles. Take the Feeley exit (no. 111) and drive west on Forest Service Road #96 (Divide Creek Road) for approximately 6 miles. The campground is on the left. The gravel road is suitable for passenger vehicle access.
