About
Basin Canyon Campground is a small undeveloped campground located near Boulder River within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Managed by the Butte Ranger District, this primitive site offers just two camping units, making it an ideal destination for campers seeking solitude away from more developed facilities. The campground is free to use and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The area surrounding Basin Canyon features interesting geology, most notably Indian Head Rock, which provides an additional attraction for visitors interested in natural formations. While basic amenities include toilets and picnic tables, campers should come prepared with their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. The campground is best suited for tent camping and small trailers, with a maximum recommended trailer length of 16 feet. The access road, Forest Road 1723/Basin Creek Road, leads approximately 3 miles north from the town of Basin off Interstate 15.
Directions
