Beaver Sulphur Group Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. The campground typically operates from May through September and is available by reservation only through Recreation.gov. The entire campground must be rented as a single group site.

About

Beaver Sulphur Group Campground offers an ideal setting for large family gatherings and group camping in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest of southwest Oregon. Nestled in the deep shade of a mixed-conifer forest on the banks of bubbling Beaver Creek, the campground features a single large reservable group site with individual spurs that can accommodate both tents and trailers. The campground provides access to numerous outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the year. The nearby Mule Mountain Trail offers a challenging long-distance hike winding through the arid ridges of the Oregon Siskiyous, with spectacular spring wildflower displays including dwarf star tulips, lilies, shooting stars, larkspurs and buttercups. Applegate Lake, a short drive away, is a popular destination for swimming, boating, canoeing, fishing and cycling. The campground is also a popular base for family hunting trips during fall season. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest encompasses over 340,000 acres of designated Wilderness and 200 miles of National Wild and Scenic Rivers. The forest provides habitat for diverse wildlife including spotted owls, bull elk, salamanders and sandhill cranes. The nearby Red Buttes Wilderness area, spanning nearly 20,000 acres along the California-Oregon border, offers additional opportunities for backcountry exploration.
