About

Beard's Bluff Park sits on the shores of Millwood Lake, 13 miles east of Ashdown on State Highway 32. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this established campground features 24 total sites with most offering direct lake views from scenic bluffs overlooking the water. The campground provides 23 sites with 30/50 amp electrical service and water hookups, plus 1 non-electric site. Millwood Lake is renowned as a birdwatcher's paradise, hosting over 300 species including American Bald Eagles and Great White Pelicans. The park features a dedicated birding overlook and is considered one of the best locations for sunset viewing on the lake. Anglers and duck hunters are drawn to the submerged timber and aquatic vegetation found outside the marked boat lanes. The area offers open water access to both Millwood Lake and the Little River, with boat lanes marking navigable channels through the lake. The campground is surrounded by dense forest and provides a full range of amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, potable water throughout the park, and a centrally located sewage dump station. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, grill, fire ring, and lantern pole. Additional park features include a boat ramp, fishing access, and an outdoor wedding chapel. Campers should be aware that alligators are present in Millwood Lake.

Directions

Located 13 miles east of Ashdown on State Highway 32. From Ashdown, cross Millwood Dam and take the second left.
