About

Bear Valley Horse Camp is a dedicated equestrian campground situated in the scenic Lemhi Mountains of the Salmon-Challis National Forest, approximately 28 miles northwest of Leadore, Idaho. The campground provides 6 sites that accommodate both tents and trailers, specifically designed for campers traveling with horses and other stock animals. The facility includes essential equestrian amenities such as feed troughs and hitch rails at each site, along with piped drinking water during the operating season and vault toilets. The location provides direct access to the Bear Valley National Recreation Trail, offering excellent opportunities for horseback riding through the surrounding wilderness. The area is known for its scenic meadows and babbling creeks, making it a peaceful destination for equestrians seeking remote backcountry experiences in central Idaho's mountains.
