About
Agency Creek Campground is a small, primitive Bureau of Land Management campground with just 4 campsites located along the scenic Lewis and Clark National Backcountry Byway in eastern Idaho. The campground sits in a secluded, arid landscape near where the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail and the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail intersect. At nearby Lemhi Pass, visitors can see a memorial to Sacajawea commemorating the expedition's historic crossing of the Continental Divide in 1805.
This remote campground serves as a base for exploring the surrounding area's rich history and diverse recreation opportunities. The location offers camping, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, OHV riding, picnicking, and excellent wildlife viewing. The area is home to crucial big game winter range, and visitors are asked to be respectful of cultural and historical resources found throughout the region.
The campground is accessible via Idaho Highway 28 to Tendoy, then 4 miles east on the Lewis and Clark Backcountry Byway. Due to its elevation and location, the area experiences seasonal closures with motorized travel restrictions from mid-December through April to protect wintering wildlife.
