About
Williams Lake Campground is a first-come, first-served facility with 9 campsites situated among Douglas-fir trees that provide ample shade and wildlife habitat. While the campsites themselves do not offer direct lake views, Williams Lake is easily accessible 2 miles away at the Forest Service boat dock and day-use area. The campground accommodates both RV and tent camping, though RVs and trailers are not recommended on the lower loop past Site 6.
Each campsite is equipped with accessible picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Vault toilets and potable water are available, but no hookups are provided. The campground is located approximately 19 miles from Salmon, Idaho, accessed via Highway 93, Williams Creek Road, and Williams Lake Road.
Williams Lake is popular with anglers and offers both motorized and non-motorized boating opportunities. The surrounding Salmon-Challis National Forest provides a multitude of recreation opportunities including motorized and non-motorized trails, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The area is bear country, so proper food storage is required.
