About
Bear Lake State Park encompasses the Idaho shoreline of Bear Lake, known for its distinctive turquoise color caused by suspended limestone particles. The park draws approximately 15,000 campers annually to its Mountain Fawn Campground, which offers 47 serviced sites with electric hookups along the lakeshore. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, with indoor restrooms and vault toilets available throughout the campground. A dump station serves RV campers, and the campground provides direct beach access. The park also includes Sage Springs primitive camping area with a large group site accommodating up to 50 people. North Beach offers additional day-use facilities including two boat ramps and a life jacket loaner station. Bear Lake itself spans the Idaho-Utah border and is popular for swimming, boating, and fishing. The surrounding Bear Lake Valley provides scenic mountain views and access to nearby national forest lands.
