About

North Fork Campground sits in a dense mixed-conifer forest along St. Charles Creek in southern Idaho's Bear Lake region. The campground offers one reservable group site composed of five smaller areas, accommodating up to 50 guests. St. Charles Creek flows through the property, providing a scenic backdrop and fishing opportunities managed by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. The campground serves as a trailhead for North Fork Trail, which is open to motorcycles, horses, hikers, and mountain bikers. This trail connects with the Highline Trail, a 55-mile route along the backbone of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains. Parking is limited and can only accommodate tents and small pop-up trailers; large trailers and RVs cannot be accommodated. Nearby attractions include Minnetonka Cave, where Scenic Canyons offers guided 90-minute tours through nine rooms of formations. Bear Lake's North Beach is 12 miles away, and Bear Lake State Park Marina is 20 miles distant with boat rentals and facilities.

Directions

From Garden City, Utah, take Highway 89 north to St. Charles, Idaho. Drive west from St. Charles along Forest Road 412 for 8.1 miles, then turn right and follow the dirt road a short distance to the campground.
