About

Lake Poinsett State Park Campground is located in Poinsett County, Arkansas, on the shores of a 640-acre lake created in the 1930s by damming the Poinsett Bayou. The park lies in the heart of the Arkansas Delta and offers a peaceful retreat with excellent fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. The campground features 29 sites: 12 Class A sites with water and 50-amp electric hookups, 14 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electric, and three tent-only sites. Sites include metal picnic tables and fire pits with cooking grates. Modern bathhouse facilities with flush toilets and individual shower rooms are available, with showers operational during summer months. A dump station is located near the visitor center. Beyond camping, the park offers boat rentals including fishing boats, canoes, and kayaks, a boat launch ramp, and an on-site bait shop. A heated and cooled pavilion is available for rent, and the park runs year-round interpretive programs covering local wildlife and Delta history. Easy-to-traverse trails wind through the park, suitable for all ages.
