About

Jacksonport State Park Campground sits on 164.7 acres along the White River in northeast Arkansas, offering modern camping amenities amid rich Civil War and steamboat era history. The campground features 20 Class A campsites equipped with 50 amp electric service, water, and sewer hookups. The park's centerpiece is the restored 1872 courthouse, now serving as a museum with free admission, where visitors can explore exhibits about Jacksonport's days as a thriving river port and its role during the Civil War when both Confederate and Union forces occupied the town. Beyond camping, the park offers diverse recreational opportunities including a swimming beach along the White River, a boat ramp for river access, picnic sites, a pavilion, and playground facilities. The half-mile Tunstall Riverwalk provides an easy nature trail experience along the riverbank. The visitor center offers interpretive programs year-round, sharing the story of this historic river port that once served as the Jackson County seat before the town faded when railroads were built miles away.
