About

Lake Charles State Park sits on a 645-acre lake in the Ozark Mountain foothills of Lawrence County, Arkansas. The campground features 55 sites divided between Class AAA full-hookup sites (water, 50-amp electric, sewer) and Class B sites (water, 30-amp electric). Many campsites are positioned directly on the water, with paved pads, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills at each site. Most sites can accommodate RVs up to 61 feet, though sites 8 and 10 are limited to pop-ups, truck campers, and trailers under 25 feet. Facilities include two bathhouses with hot showers (Area A operates March through November; Area C is open year-round), flush toilets throughout the park, and a dump station with potable water near Camping Area C. The visitor center stocks camping supplies, live bait, and snacks. Note that water service is shut off during December, January, and February. Beyond camping, the park offers a free swimming beach (no lifeguard), marina with kayak rentals, bait and tackle shop (March through October), barrier-free fishing piers, boat launch, interpretive center, hiking trails, and playground. The lake supports bass, bream, catfish, and crappie fishing.
