About
Greer Crossing Campground occupies a flat, level area adjacent to Highway 19, set back from the Eleven Point National Wild and Scenic River in Mark Twain National Forest. The campground offers 16 single sites and 3 double sites, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. Sites are well-spaced and provide good privacy among the Ozark hardwoods. A campground host is present during summer months.
The boat launch here is one of the most popular access points for floating the Eleven Point, making the campground a natural base for paddlers. A 4-mile out-and-back hiking trail follows the river before climbing through typical Ozark hills to McCormack Lake. Fishing opportunities include rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, and sunfish.
Nearby attractions include Greer Spring (one of the largest springs in the Ozarks), Greer Mill historic site, and several other historic mills and springs within a short drive. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no advance reservations.
Directions
From Winona, MO take Highway 19 south 17 miles to Forest Road 3188. Turn left at the junction of Highway 19 and Forest Road 3188. The campground is on the left; the boat launch and day use area are straight ahead. The site is just north of the Eleven Point Bridge.
