About

Sunglow Campground occupies a scenic red rock box canyon in Fishlake National Forest, offering a convenient base camp for exploring south-central Utah. Situated at 7,200 feet elevation, the campground provides a mix of standard nonelectric sites and two group sites that can each accommodate up to 20 people. Cottonwoods and junipers provide limited shade, while sagebrush and seasonal wildflowers dot the surrounding landscape. The campground features flush toilets and potable drinking water during the operating season from May through September. Single sites accommodate vehicles up to 55 feet and operate on a first-come, first-served basis, while group sites require advance reservations through Recreation.gov. The access road is paved, though internal roads and parking spurs are gravel. Recreation opportunities abound with many miles of trails for hiking, biking, and OHV use in the surrounding area. The Great Western Trail passes nearby, and Capitol Reef National Park lies approximately 20 miles away, offering world-class hiking, historic sites, and stunning red rock scenery. Utah Highway 12, a National Scenic Byway, provides additional sightseeing opportunities through breathtaking canyon country.
