About
Aquarius Campground occupies a scenic riverside location along the North Fork of the Clearwater River in north-central Idaho. The developed campground offers 9 individual campsites and 2 group sites known as Purple Beach, all situated at approximately 1,700 feet elevation. Each site includes a picnic table, and potable water is available during the operating season until late September. The North Fork Clearwater corridor provides exceptional water-based recreation. Swimming, fly fishing, tubing, and whitewater rafting are popular activities, with rafting conditions best during May and June when snowmelt raises water levels. Anglers will find quality fishing opportunities throughout the corridor. Hiking trails near the campground access the Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area and lead to Black Mountain summit, one of the few remaining places in Idaho where mountain goats can still be observed. Hunters and families alike find this campground a quiet basecamp for exploring the surrounding backcountry.
