About

Lower South Fork Campground is a small, primitive campground situated near the South Fork of the Rogue River within the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground features 6 sites surrounded by old growth forest, offering a peaceful setting for campers seeking a more rustic experience. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables and fire pits at each site, along with vault toilets. However, there is no potable water available, so visitors must bring their own supply. There is also no garbage service, requiring campers to pack out all trash. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a nightly fee, and sites may accommodate additional vehicles for an extra charge. Access to the campground requires traveling along Forest Road 34, approximately 8 miles from Highway 992. The location provides opportunities for day hiking and enjoying the scenic South Fork Rogue River area. Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., dogs must be leashed, and OHV/ATV use is prohibited within the campground. Maximum stay is limited to 14 consecutive days.
