About

Pine Creek Campground occupies a shaded setting of mature Douglas fir and spruce in Paradise Valley, a few miles east of the Yellowstone River. The campground serves as a basecamp for anglers targeting whitefish, rainbow trout, and brown trout in Pine Creek, and hikers bound for the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. The Pine Creek Trail begins nearby and climbs five miles to the 32-acre alpine Pine Creek Lake; a worthwhile side trip at the one-mile mark offers views of Pine Creek Falls. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water, trash service, and bear-proof food storage boxes. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is sold on-site for $10 per bundle. An accessible fishing dock sits within the campground, and the half-mile Creekside Trail is wheelchair-friendly. The campground has 25 individual sites plus a group site (Site 26) for overnight group camping. Site 28 is a day-use group picnic area only. Horses are not permitted within the campground boundaries. Bears frequent the area, so proper food storage is mandatory.
