About
Allen Springs Campground is located on a scenic turn of the Metolius River in the Deschutes National Forest, surrounded by towering old-growth ponderosa pines. The campground features 16 sites arranged in a circular layout, with most sites better suited to tents rather than RVs due to the configuration, though the maximum site spur length is 36 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. The campground provides vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The shaded setting offers opportunities for bird watching, nature observation, and easy access to nearby hiking and biking trails. The Metolius River provides excellent fishing opportunities, and the campground's location offers views where the river broadens. Situated about 20 miles from the town of Sisters, the campground offers a peaceful riverside experience with convenient access to additional amenities and the Sisters Wilderness Trails. The ponderosa pine forest provides ample shade and a classic Central Oregon camping experience along one of the region's most scenic rivers.
