About

Alfred A. Loeb State Park sits in a dense grove of ancient Myrtlewood trees along the banks of the Chetco River, eight miles inland from Brookings on Oregon's southern coast. The 48 electrical campsites and three rustic log cabins all feature water and electric hookups, with flush toilets and hot showers available. The park is open year-round and offers a peaceful setting for camping beneath towering old-growth trees. The Chetco River is the main attraction, offering excellent fall and winter salmon and steelhead fishing, as well as swimming and rafting in warmer months. The Riverview Nature Trail provides an easy walk through the Myrtlewood grove. One cabin is pet-friendly, and ADA-accessible facilities include one campsite, one cabin, and a picnic area. Site lengths range from 17 to 58 feet depending on location, though some sites are limited to 20 feet. All sites are back-in only. No dump station is available, and generators are prohibited. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com.
