About

Redwood Bar is a dispersed camping area situated on the Recreation portion of the Wild and Scenic Chetco River in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. This rustic site accommodates tents and small trailers, with a few shaded camping spots available along the tree line of the large river bar. The campground is primarily designed for summer recreation, with visitors enjoying the crystal clear waters for picnicking, sunbathing, swimming, floating, and other non-motorized water sports. The facility maintains a primitive character with no drinking water available, requiring campers to bring their own supply. A vault toilet is provided for visitor convenience. Garbage disposal service is available from May 15 through September 15, though visitors should be prepared to pack out trash outside of these dates. The site is popular for fishing, wildlife viewing, and accessing nearby trails including the Redwood Nature Trail through old-growth redwood forest. Campers pay $10 per vehicle per night and can stay for a maximum of 14 consecutive days. Quiet hours are enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., campfires are restricted to developed fire pits only, and dogs must be kept on leash. The campground is located approximately 6 miles from the Forest boundary on Forest Road 1376, just past Little Redwood Campground, making it accessible yet secluded for those seeking a riverside camping experience.
