About
Redwood Bar Dispersed Camping is located on the recreational section of the Wild and Scenic Chetco River in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. This free-form camping area allows visitors to set up tents or small trailers wherever they choose along the river, with shaded spots available along the tree line. The crystal-clear waters of the Chetco offer swimming, floating, and non-motorized water sports during the summer months. The site provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and seasonal garbage disposal service available from May 15 through September 15. Campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Campfires are allowed only in developed fire pits, and fireworks are prohibited. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nearby hiking opportunities include the Redwood Nature Trail, a self-guided interpretive trail through old-growth redwood forest, and the Chetco Gorge Trail along the river. An Oregon state fishing license is required for fishing. OHV and ATV use is prohibited within the camping area.
