About

Alamo Lake State Park's ramada camping area provides electric campsites with individual shade ramadas, ideal for beating the intense summer heat of western Arizona's Sonoran Desert. These sites offer a middle ground between primitive dry camping and full-hookup RV sites, with electric connections and covered shade structures at each site. The park sits at the edge of Alamo Lake, a 3,000-acre reservoir created by damming the Bill Williams River. The lake is regionally famous for largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. Beyond fishing, the remote location and minimal light pollution make this one of Arizona's better stargazing destinations. Wildlife including javelina, mule deer, and coyotes are common. Restrooms are located throughout the campgrounds and are ADA accessible. Showers are available in Campgrounds A, C, and the main campground area. Two dump stations serve the park. A camp store at the visitor center sells basic supplies, though the nearest fuel and propane is in Salome. The park operates year-round with 24-hour access for campers.
