About

River Island State Park is a year-round camping destination situated along the Colorado River in La Paz County, Arizona. The campground offers 37 sites total, divided between eight intimate beachfront locations on grass overlooking the river and 29 spacious RV-friendly sites. Beachfront sites accommodate tents and small campers up to 24 feet with 20-amp electric and water hookups. The remaining 29 sites are designed for larger RVs up to 65 feet deep, featuring a mix of 19 pull-through and 10 back-in sites with 20, 30, or 50-amp service and water. The park provides a scenic desert escape with a sandy beach, protected cove, and boat launch area, making it popular for water recreation including swimming, boating, jet skiing, and fishing. A hiking trail and access to off-highway vehicle backcountry roads offer additional exploration opportunities. River Island Market is located just 1/4 mile outside the park for supplies and groceries. Summer months attract visitors for water sports and camping beneath mountain backdrops, while winter brings mild weather ideal for camping and fishing. All campsites include fire rings, charcoal grills, and picnic tables. The park operates 24 hours daily with reservations available through Arizona State Parks online or by phone.

River Island State Park is located at 5200 N. Highway 95, Parker, AZ 85344. From Parker, head north on AZ-95 for approximately 5 miles; the park entrance will be on your right.
