About
Midway Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the southeast shore of Waco Lake, offering families and friends an ideal blend of water recreation and urban convenience. The campground provides 37 campsites total, including 32 RV sites with water and electric hookups, 11 of which also have sewer hookups, and 5 tent-only sites. The facility is equipped with hot showers, flush toilets, an accessible playground, and a boat ramp with dock for lake access. Waco Lake's 79,000 acre feet of water features extensive submerged timber along the shoreline, creating prime habitat for year-round fishing. Anglers can expect to catch catfish, crappie, large and smallmouth bass, and various sunfish species. The park's location within Waco city limits provides easy access to nearby attractions including Magnolia Market (10 miles away), Waco Lake Wetlands with its six-acre aquatic plant nursery and 130+ bird species, and Cameron Park Zoo. The campground enforces a 14-day maximum stay in any 30 consecutive day period across all Waco Lake facilities. Park gates are locked from 10 PM to 6 AM, though a night exit allows departures after hours. Reservations are managed through Recreation.gov, and the park operates year-round with sites available for advance booking.
