Reynolds Creek

Open

Open for the 2026 season. Regular camping runs April 1 through September 30; equestrian camping is available year-round. Gates lock at 10pm and reopen at 6am. Maximum stay is 14 days in any 30-day period.

About

Reynolds Creek sits on the scenic shores of Waco Lake, a 7,270-acre reservoir fed by the Bosque River in central Texas. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground offers 51 spacious sites spread across three configurations: sites 9-21 feature water and 50-amp electric hookups, sites 22-43 have water and 30-amp hookups, and sites 44-49 are tent-only without hookups. Ten equestrian sites accommodate campers with horses year-round. The campground provides excellent facilities including flush toilets, hot water showers, drinking water spigots, trash collection, and a dump station. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. A two-lane boat ramp and dock provide lake access for fishing and boating. The main lake shoreline holds submerged timber that attracts catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and sunfish year-round. The Tejas Nature Trail, an easy 1.2-mile loop, begins at the campground and winds through ash and juniper woodland ideal for bird watching. More adventurous visitors can access the 20-mile Lacy Point Trail for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding. Day-use picnic areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Directions

From I-35, take exit 330B onto Hwy 6 North toward Meridian for about 7 miles. After crossing Waco Lake on the Twin Bridges, take the Speegleville Road exit (second exit after the bridges). Turn right on Speegleville Road. After 1 mile at the 4-way stop, continue straight on Speegleville Road for about 2 miles. Park entrance is on the right.
