Speegleville Park

Open

Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates March through October with gates open 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Maximum stay is 14 days within any 30-day period.

About

Speegleville Park is perched on the south end of a scenic cove of Waco Lake, a 79,000 acre-foot reservoir within Waco city limits fed by the Bosque River. This Army Corps of Engineers campground provides 30 RV campsites with water and 30/50 amp electric hookups, plus two screened shelters for those preferring covered accommodations. Every site features a covered patio area with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring on paved surfaces. The park caters to water recreation enthusiasts with a four-lane boat ramp providing access to excellent fishing waters. The main lake shoreline contains substantial submerged timber that holds fish year-round, including catfish, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and sunfish. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy boating, jet skiing, swimming, and bird watching. Facilities include flush restrooms with hot showers, a dump station, and trash collection. The nearby 20-mile Lacy Point Hiking and Biking Trail offers opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov.

Directions

From I-35, take exit 330B onto Highway 6 North toward Meridian for about 6 miles. After passing over the lake on the Twin Bridges, take the first exit toward Lake Waco/Speegleville Park. Turn left on the access road, continue past Twin Bridges Park about a quarter mile until you reach Overflow Road. Turn right on Overflow Road and drive about 1.5 miles until you reach the park entrance on the left.
