About
Perched beside the Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River about 53 miles east of Roseburg, Boulder Flat Campground is a compact nine-site facility tucked into the Umpqua National Forest. Eight of the nine sites have direct river access, making this a prime base for trout fishing and whitewater rafting. A concrete raft launch at the east end serves as a popular put-in for float trips, and a changing room building with two stalls provides privacy for paddlers gearing up. The campground offers paved roads and parking spurs throughout, with each site equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Two accessible vault toilets are located at opposite ends of the campground. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Garbage services are limited, so be prepared to pack out trash. Nearby trailheads provide access to the Boulder Creek Wilderness via Boulder Creek Trail and the Jesse Wright Segment of the North Umpqua National Recreation Trail. Toketee Falls and Twin Lakes are short drives up the highway, and Crater Lake National Park is within reach for day trips.
