About
Toketee Lake Campground occupies a tranquil setting where the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River pauses at Toketee Reservoir. The campground is divided into two loops (A and B) with 32 reservable sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping up to 30 feet. Sites are generally level and include fire pits and picnic tables. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site. The reservoir and surrounding area support diverse wildlife including beaver, otter, great blue heron, and kingfishers, with bald eagles, ducks, and geese visiting during fall and winter. Anglers come for some of Oregon's best German brown trout fishing, though lake levels can affect boat ramp access. Two spectacular waterfalls are within a five-minute drive: Watson Falls at 272 feet with a short trail to its base, and Toketee Falls, a dramatic two-tiered cascade flowing from basalt columns with a viewing platform less than half a mile down the trail. The campground is adjacent to the North Umpqua Trail, a premier route for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
Directions
From Roseburg, OR, travel east on OR-138 East for 59 miles, turn left onto Forest Road 34. Keep left at the bottom of the hill and cross the bridge. Proceed 1.5 miles to the campground entrance on the right.
