About

Toketee Group Site sits where the Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River pauses at Toketee Reservoir, creating habitat for beaver, otter, great blue heron, and kingfisher. Fall and winter bring ducks, geese, and bald eagles. The reservoir offers some of Oregon's best German Brown trout fishing, though ongoing dam repairs have lowered water levels 2-3 feet below the boat ramp, making small non-powered boats preferable. The group site includes a pavilion with two picnic tables and a large grill, surrounded by open grass for tent camping. Graveled parking doubles as RV-friendly space. This is a dry site with no potable water; campers must bring their own supply. The site sits adjacent to one of the North Umpqua Trail trailheads, making it a popular base camp for mountain bikers, hikers, and horseback riders. Two spectacular waterfalls are within a five-minute drive: Watson Falls drops 272 feet with a short trail to its base (expect spray during wet months), and Toketee Falls features a dramatic two-tier cascade flowing from basalt columns, viewable from a platform less than half a mile down the trail.
